LaShon F. Williams is a seasoned and experienced leader in the area of community service and professional development. She has a profound ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of people on various levels both as a social worker and as a business owner of a service organization. Her professional experience truly focuses on service to mankind.
Ms. Williams' founded the organization, after going through a difficult divorce herself, she recognized the difficulty one experiences after divorce and seeks to help individuals make a healthy and positive transition.
Divorce Recovery Today is a cutting edge organization, committed to helping families and individuals recover and rebuild their lives after divorce and loss. The organization has a proven track record of successful programs, unique techniques and life building skills that are crucial to self development and restoration for every type of family. Divorce Recovery Today is quickly being recognized as a leader in the area of family development for divorce recovery, single parenting, children coping with divorce and families affected by divorce. This work has afforded her the opportunity to work with various institutions throughout Michigan; most notable, the University of Michigan, Center for the Education of Women and Michigan's Parent Awareness Prevention Network. In 2006, Detroit Free Press/Twist Magazine featured her in there magazine newspaper. Sharing her vision and voice on the recovery process.
Ms. Williams has worked as a manager for the State of Michigan Department of Human Services for 17 years. She enjoys speaking with church groups, corporate executives, lawyers and community leaders on the importance of divorce recovery among their social environment.
Ms. Williams released first book Moving On! Living Life To The Fullest After Divorce Her book details the memoir of her own personal experience and how she overcame the stigma associated with divorce. She courageously shares her testimony of heartache, pain and ultimately victory over divorce. Her next book, Moving On, The Practical Application Workbook is due for release January 2008. She has become a strong voice for the advocacy of divorce recovery. Moving On! has already proven to be a potential best seller.
Born and raised in Michigan, she completed her undergraduate studies in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Public Relations in 1989 and a Masters degree in Public Administration in 1995 both from Western Michigan University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She lives in the Detroit area with her teenage son.
